A great night out for everyone who bought tickets to see Dirty Harry on the 19th December at Liquidroom. Very kindly proceeds from the sale of each ticket was donated to the Road To Malaga fund - thanks go to Eileen Stevenson for organising this night and helping with the fundraising effort. Another £120 added to the total and it's definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Its really wonderful that the boys are getting the recognition they deserve as Scottish Champions and so good that the West Area Neighbourhood Partnership have made a contribution from their Community Grants Fund to help with their travel costs to Malaga. A huge thank you from everyone at Turnhouse Golf Club and everyone involved in the fundraising effort.
So, the boys kicked off their fundraising activities with a bag packing day at Morrisons Supermarket at the Gyle. We all met outside Morrisons at half past ten, started our bag packing at 11am and kept at it until Allan called time at 17:10, a very good shift put in by all. It was nice and busy, with everyone beginning their food shop on the run up to Christmas. Iain organised buckets for each of the tills and we had all of the boys from the junior team, parents, brothers and sisters and of course the officials from the club. We managed to cover all the tills all day and then retired to the clubhouse to count the treasure. Iain thought around £500, Rory's mum was a bit more optimistic at £750 but no one guessed just how much had been thrown in the buckets till the boys carried out the final count revealing a staggering £1,268.33. A massive well done to everyone involved and also congratulations to Jack and Rory who also managed to play in the mens league today too helping them to a win. Overall a very successful day out, one that we may repeat in January if we get the chance. A huge thanks must go to Colin at Morrisons, a member of Turnhouse Golf Club too, for helping to arrange our invitation to bag pack today. |
